According To WikiPedia, "A computer network, or data network, is a digital telecommunications network which allows nodes to share resources."
Computer Network Refers to the interconnection of two or mote computers for sharing data and resources. i.e. sharing printer, scanner, HDD , Drives, Program , Data And Files.
In Summary There Are Three Network Services, They Are Print Service, File Service And Messaging Service.
The Advantages of computer network are:
1. Sharing of files and resources.
2. Increased Storage Capacity ( Several HDD of several PC's Can be used Collectively to increase Space)
3. Increased Security (Client-Server architecture uses higher security mechanism so data cannot be accessed by illegal or unrecognized user)
4. Communication Between users (The user of network can use messaging service inside the network without any cost)
5. Sharing Apps (This feature allows to use a common program by several users at a time) If
Every'thing Has An Advantage then they must have some disadvantage too , Some Of Them are listed below :
1. Chances of Virus Spreading
2. Chances of Piracy and hacking
3. Chances of Secrecy Loss
4. Chances of loss of privacy
Generally the Network Architecture uses Three Types of Modes Which Are:
1. Simplex: It is One way communication mode. Eg: TV, Radio, Newspaper,Blogs,etc
2. Duplex: Duplex is a two way communication. I.e Transfer of message in both directions simultaneously. For eg. Voice Call, Video Call, Live Chat
3. Half Duplex: In Half Duplex Mode Data can be sent and received both but one at a time. For eg. Walkie-Talkie
